"When Børge Saxil Nielsen opened his shop in 1952, it was on the opposite
side of Henrik Ibsensvej, in relation to where the store is located today.
A racing and track machine was built at Saxil Cykler and these were
"tailored" to professional and amateur riders. The bikes built at the
workshop were of very high quality and Saxil got a good reputation, like a
solid frame and bicycle builder. This led to the fact that a Saxil
baneracer was used in the cycling film "Six-Day Run" from 1959." |
